Love Tea

“Love Tea” is a unique beverage created by my lovely friend, Sophy. It’s a blend of bold spices, like cinnamon and ginger, with a few bites of lemon and apple, delicately sweetened with honey, brown sugar and a hint of vanilla. The marriage of these ingredients produces a potent, all natural, alcohol- free aphrodisiac. If you and your romantic partner consume this concoction together, it is said to have the power to evoke passionate, loving emotion.

According to Sophy, “Love Tea” is a delicious, sweet tea that awakens the libido, while adding spice to any loving partnership. It is crucial, however, that this brew of tea be made with sincere love in your heart. It is not to be consumed alone or with somebody other than your lover. I have yet to try this special tea, but I definitely plan to, eventually. I want to test Sophy’s theory, because she swears by it. I really trust her opinions, especially when it comes to beverages and cuisine; she’s a passionate foodie like me.

So, for St.Valentine’s Day, I want to share this magical love tea recipe with you, a la Sophy. 🙂 (Thank you!)

Love Tea

4 cups of purified water
1 tspn of honey
1 tspn of cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon of freshly minced ginger
1 delicious red apple sliced, cored and cut into bite sized pieces
1 lemon cut into bite sized pieces
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
hint of vanilla, like 1/2 teaspoon

Combine all ingredients, except for the honey (that’s the final step) in a medium pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and let simmer for about 5-7 mins. Add honey, stir. Serve in warm mugs. Add lemon and apple. Use a cinnamon stick for stirring and decorative purposes. Enjoy!
