Tasty Banana Bread

Like asparagus, the banana is a phallic shaped fruit associated with erotic, Tantric energy. It’s attribution as an aphrodisiac is not only because of its shape. Its also rich in essential nutrients such as B-vitamins and potassium, which play an important role in the production of sex hormones.

An Islamic myth suggests that after Adam & Eve consumed the apple from the forbidden tree of good and evil, they covered themselves with banana leaves.

The star ingredient of tonight’s dessert is banana, among other ingredients needed to bake. This is the first time I bake banana bread from scratch. I combined a few banana bread recipes with a twist of my own touch, to create this recipe. It is simple, not overly sweet, yet decadent. Remember, the most important ingredient in this dish is love. (otherwise, it won’t taste the same). Enjoy!

My recipe omits the nuts 😦  I’m allergic, but you can add them to the recipe (1/2 cup of chopped pecans and/or walnuts)

Ingredients

  • 3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix. Pour mixture into a buttered 4×8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.
